How do i identify what kind of turtle do i have?

found in lake in ga very small and unique shell.

Answers:
If you got it from a lake, then its probably just a red eared slider, or a map turtle, but since you said its shell is unique, is it very soft like leather, then it might be a soft shelled turtle. But im naming turtles that live in the south, so dont listen to me if you dont live there

you need to give a few more details about what it looks like
Don't touch it because turtles carry salmonella and that turtle can make you and your family very ill.
I found a baby turtile a few days a ago, its a size of a quater, I called a nearby pet shop, which they kind of helped me, but just search the web,
Jeez, with a lame description like that, sounds like you're trying to keep it a secret! Come on!
Try this link: http://www.austinsturtlepage.com/world_o...

Or, google '(your state) turtles' and see if you can find a photo directory of your local turtles. Many colleges, game and park departments, etc. run them.
