After my ball python shed a few days ago, he has about a 2 inch area of bleached-out scales on his back. I don't know if this will be a permenant mark on him or if it will disappear after the next time he sheds. I also found it weird that unlike most times that he sheds, this time his skin and eyes got all cloudy as normal, but he waited about 4 days to shed, which usually he only waits about a day or two. Could this have created the white-ish patch? He's about 3 years old and sheds normally once a month and I feed him once every two weeks.

As our ball pythons got older they took a little longer to completely shed the old skin. It could be some of the old skin still adhering. a soft bristled tooth brush, just damp with warm water might be brushed gently across the scales. Also check to make sure they are scales. i have found ticks growing on ball pythons, and until closer observation they look like oddly colored scales at first, though they are usually red or brown.
It sounds like he retained a piece of shed. Put him in a rubbermaid with a warm (not hot) wet towel and he'll most likely work it off hismelf.
Hello...all reptiles need some humidity ..daily mistings, 2 or more when shedding %26 a water dish big enough for them to soak in if need be %26 things to rub on when shedding..this is why they don't do well in aquariums, gotta make sure there is NO STANDING water other then in their water/soaking dishes ...Take Care :)
