Answers:
If you have two BABY RES, you definately need to get them to eat the pellets.

I know for some turtles, this can be diffcult but it is CRUCIAL.

It's the only way they can get ALL the nutrients they need to grow a healthy shell, and live a long %26 healthy life.

Some things you can try to "trick" your turtles into eating the pellets is soaking it in tuna fish water (you the stuff you drain from the canned tuna, that stuff!) and soak the pellets for a while so they smell better and will taste better for your turtles.

Also, they might not be eating them INSTANTLY because they aren't soft enough yet, or two hard to swallow, give them time to soak, other turtles (like one of mine) wont eat the pellets once they're soggy lol.

They also might be too big, make sure, if you have baby RES, that you get SMALL pellets, when mine were very small they couldnt eat the bigger ones, so I got ones that were like as smaller as a period dot and they gobbled them up.

Its very important they get what they need, not what they like, just like any other baby, so yo should cut off giving them the treats or only do it once a week or LESS.

EDIT: The turtle 'sticks' listed about make the tank water turn green, so if you feed them those you have to place them in another tank to feed (which some turtles dont like or wont do) or be prepared to clean the water more often than regularly.
Just Krill and lettuce is not a balanced diet. If they are kept properly they should eat very well. Please research RES on the internet there are some very good sites on husbandry. They do get very large so I hope you have a pond to keep them in. Good Luck
you can give them the treats. but also try other foods. not all turtle foods are the hard pellets. you can try looking at this site. they have this stuff the is called aquatic turtle yummies and my turtle loves them. they also have other things to try.

Turtles need variety. Pellets should be fed only occasionally. They should be fed insects, earthworms, small fish and, as adults, plant matter.
They need some other kind of food. The treats do not give them all of the vitamins they need.
red ear sliders change their diets from veggies to meats as they get older ...
I would ask who ever you got your baby RES what they ate when they had them! I know my RES is a pickie eater! It only eats this one type of pellet, and mine is large and eats guppies ^_^. If they are hungry they will eat!
