Garder snake?

what do you feed teeny and medium sized garder snakes?note:we don't live next to a crick or lake.also-is a heating rock good for them? i heard a heating rock will burn the insides of some reptiles.
Answers:
Young garters will devour all the earthworms you can give them. They also like small fish, in small doses, salamanders, small frogs, snails. Do not try feeding them insects like crickets, grasshoppers, beetles etc. Garters are not insect eaters. If you want to keep this one, you can get all the food you need in the garden or at your local fish bait shop. Don't use a hot rock as they can seriously burn your snake. Use a heating pad type heater under the tank %26 a regular light bulb above the tank to create a warm spot. Make sure your snake has fresh water at all times %26 a secure spot for it to hide.
go on line they will tell you.
I think you mean garter snakes, you feed them defrosted rodents that you buy from your local pet store. And you are quite right about the heat rock they can burn them so don't use one! A heat mat is the best and safest option.
Hello..if this a wild native snake to where you live, you don't feed it or try to keep it...YOU LET IT GO, reptiles do not need nor have parents nor care takers after birth..Take Care :)
