How do you care for tadpoles?

I found some tadpoles floating down the street by the curb after we had really bad rain i tried to scoop up as many as possible but i don't know how often to feed them or when they need to come out of the water do you have any suggestions?
Answers:
I had a tadpole and I got it I put some water where it came from in it ate the little plants and stuff at the bottom I would get the water where it came from put it in and it will eat wheneer it wants and they dont come out of water you should have a shallow side for the tadpole so it can come up in the sun.
Hello..we just kept ours in the same water as we found them in, in shade till they turned into frogs, then we always let them go back where we found them..in a pond or ditch..Take Care :)

tadpoles need a few things to live well and grow up into frogs or toads. They need clean, dechlorinated water- most people try to use clean pond or stream water, but you can also let tap water sit out over night or use a dechlorinator for tap water to make it safe for them. They need wtaer plants to hide in, and they eat them also. They need food- small amounts of vegetable foods- ours ate lettuce, algae, fish food, egg yolk and bits of dry dog food.
They need a way to come out of the water when they change into frogs or toads- branches, or a rock that tilts up and out of where they live.
When they start to change you'll see first back legs growing. Then front legs. Last their tail will shrink, and this is the time they need to be able to move on out of the tank and back into the outdoors in a place frogs and toads live.
Tip- keep their water clean! They can die from overfeeding %26 dirty water.
