I have a 10g for my baby RES. hes about 2in right now. im probably gonna buy a 28g off my freind. how long will this aqaurium last him?

Until he grows to 2 and 1/2 inches. They need 10 gallons per square inch of shell for swimming room and extra for basking. I have an adult 12" female in a 180 gallon tank and an adult male at 9" in a 120 gallon tank, just for an idea.
if its a 28g ( are you sure its not 29?) long itll be fine for while, id prefer seeing him in a 35-45 long tho, with a nice big basking area, a filter, and what not. itll last him until hes about 5-6 inches.
it will last all of iots life but will grow to its adult size and get either stuck or smash the tank or it might not live
